documenting the almond shell collection, considering the almond's symbolism

שקד

The root of the word almond in Hebrew, "Shaked", is used often in the bible.   It will require further study, on my part, to understand its symbolic meaning.  Meanwhile, Ariel Segel Halevi in Torah.us.fm lists many qoutes to prove the use of "Shaked" refferring to "acting thoroughly and quickly."  Almonds are also mentioned in King SOlomon's Song of SOngs, and I will have to continue researching its reference there.

Almonds are also used often in the zionistic symbolism, as blooming almond trees sprinkle the hills of Jerusalem:

A verse from a song written by Bialik mentions almonds;
"The young goat brought almonds and raisons and my son will bring laws and verses"
